Globe of the Universe - James Webb Deep Field Galaxies
New Globe : James Webb Deep Field Galaxies
Those are not stars, those are galaxies! And it is a real picture of our universe, a very very small part of it.. The picture was taken by focusing a $10 billion telescope on the darkest part of our sky, and the result was the sharpest infrared image of the distant universe so far. Teeming with thousands of galaxies, some seen when the universe was less than a billion years old.
The James Webb Space Telescope saw about 25,000 galaxies in that single image, dramatically surpassing the nearly 10,000 shown in the Hubble Space Telescope's Ultra Deep Field Survey. Our universe is estimated to have over 2 trillion galaxies.
This globe is an artistic representation of our Universe, and it is truly a one-of-a-kind globe.
A big thank you to the Baia-Mare Planetarium for showcasing our globes!
